今、テレビに出るのは「もってる」人ばかりだ。甲子園の優勝投手で早稲田に進学し、今季日本ハムに入団した斎藤佑樹は自らを「もってる」と言った。名声もあり、素晴らしい仲間もあり、今は、日本中の報道関係者をもっている。な～んももってないオレは、口をアングリとして見るほかはない。
テレビではニュースをやっている。直木賞、芥川賞の発表らしい。「道尾秀介」…あ、このまえ情熱大陸に出ていたぞ。才能あり、大ヒット作連発、セレブな友人多数。写真のモデルにもなっていた。こいつももってる奴だなあ。「きことわ」…なになに、慶應義塾大学院生の20代？フランス文学者一家？あ、きれいな人だ。才色兼備じゃねえか。この女性ももってるなあ。
今や、もってる人でないと世に出ることは難しい。傑出した能力、清潔な外観、温厚な性格、つまり紳士淑女でないとダメなのだ。彼らは瞬く間にもってる者同士でネットワークを築き上げてしまう。今流行の「無縁社会」も、もってる人達による囲い込み運動の結果にすぎない。そして、彼らは決して「もってない」我々は視界に入らない。
ニュースは続いている。え、もう一人、芥川賞いるのか。ぱっとしない中年男がでてきたぞ。
「今から、風俗行きます。祝ってくれる友だちもいませんし、連絡する人も誰もいません」 ？？？
なんだ、こいつは？見事なまでに、もってない！！！
オイラはすぐに本屋に駆け込んだ。
